I stayed here in between moving and it was utter heaven! Beautiful, clean and very modern design inside and out. Views of the vineyard and privacy unlike most vacation rentals. Cozy soft sheets, super plush bed, fireplace and a fully stocked kitchen make extended stay so comfy!
If your picky about your environment and cant stand those cheap, old lady decorations most rentals have than this is a good choice.
I could live here for sure! Good job to the Madisons who live on site and can help out if you need something.
we had such a great, relaxing time at the Running Heron cottage this weekend. So many nice touches-- the delicious wine, cozy robes, the biscotti, the iPod packed with great tunes! The sunny vineyards, the hot tub under the stars, I could go on and on! We'll definitely try to make it back here again soon!
We rented the Running Heron for 5 nights and our ONLY regret is that we didn't stay longer. Should've cancelled our last night in San Francisco to stay here instead! The home is just that....a HOME....when we opened the door at check-in time, there was music playing and fresh cut vines from the grapevines on the property. The views on our little patio were fantastic...a field of color from the vines. The owner has really done a wonderful job decorating and making one feel like it's their home for their stay. Thank you, Kim.
Running Heron is probably one of the best things that could have happened to Glen Ellen's lodging options. A modern, wonderfully decorated and very comfortable cottage with wonderful views of the vineyards. If your aim is to relax or to have a romantic weekend, this is the place for you. I personally loved the hot tub and the views. I would like to come back there every week. Looking forward to the next time!!
My husband and I stayed at the Running Heron on President's Day weekend after our wedding. It was beautiful, romantic, and so peaceful. I loved the fireplace between the living room and bedroom, it kept us warm and cozy. We really enjoyed our short stay and hope to visit again soon. Thank you Kim!
